Drywall

Which drywall work do we take on?

All common drywall work in interior fit-out, in apartments, houses and commercial spaces.

  • Partition walls - creating new rooms or changing layouts
  • Suspended ceilings - including recessed lights and access panels
  • Pre-walls - for bathroom, toilet and installations
  • Loft conversion - walls, sloping ceilings and ceilings in the attic
  • Sound insulation - for quieter rooms between apartments and rooms
  • Fire protection - walls and claddings as required
  • Filling up to Q4 - surfaces ready for painting

What is drywall suitable for?

For anything that needs to be built quickly, cleanly and without long drying times. Drywall walls are light, can be set up on existing floors and take cables and pipes directly.

Typical uses are an extra room, a new layout after buying an apartment, a pre-wall for the new bathroom or a loft conversion.

What is a pre-wall and when do you need one?

A pre-wall is a drywall wall in front of the actual wall, in which pipes, cistern and connections disappear. It is mainly built in bathrooms and toilets.

This allows wall-hung toilets and washbasins to be installed without chiselling into the load-bearing wall. More on our page about bathroom renovation.

How good is the sound insulation of drywall walls?

Very good, if the wall is built correctly. What matters is the boarding, the insulation in the cavity and a clean separation from floor, ceiling and adjoining walls.

Which build-up makes sense for your rooms, we discuss on site, depending on whether it is a children’s room, a home office or a wall to the neighbouring apartment.

What do the quality levels Q1 to Q4 mean?

They describe how smoothly a drywall wall is filled. Q2 is the standard for woodchip and matt paint, Q4 the highest level for smooth walls and grazing light.

We fill to the level that suits the later surface. An overview of all levels is on our page about painting.

How much does drywall cost?

Each service has its own price: a partition wall is calculated differently from a suspended ceiling or a loft conversion. On top come sound or fire protection requirements and the chosen filling level.

That is why we only give a reliable price after the on-site visit. Our quote lists every item separately, as a fixed price after measurement.

How does a drywall project work?

First plan and measure, then substructure, cables, boarding and filling. You receive the exact schedule with the quote.

  1. On-site visit & measurement - rooms, wishes, sound and fire protection requirements.
  2. Detailed quote - every item listed separately, fixed price after measurement.
  3. Substructure - metal profiles for walls or ceilings.
  4. Cables & insulation - electrics, plumbing, insulation in the cavity.
  5. Boarding - fitting plasterboard.
  6. Filling - to the agreed quality level.
  7. Painting & handover - on request directly with our painters.
